Baden Tour
September 11 - 14, 2025
Spa! Spa! Spa! Yes, that's right, we're going on a tour of western Bohemia. We have 3 stages and 3 nights, each in a different hotel. But don't worry, we're taking it easy. The KOAvan will not only carry the tracks this time, but also the luggage. Just bikepacking without bags and with the assurance of a warm shower and fluffy pillows. And whoever wants to, will be able to add a bike ride from Prague to the start of the first stage. Because if it's already, it's already.
Cycling
The Baden Tour will introduce you to the best of cycling in West Bohemia. It's a bit different than what you're used to at KOA. It's a transition camp. Each night we end up in a different town than we started from, so we get to see a lot. And sure, everybody's been to Karlovy Vary, but do you know what it's like in Františkovy Lázně? Baden Tour is the perfect opportunity to find out.

Come with us.
Just write a message to Radka:
How fit do I have to be to go on the Baden Tour with you?
Each stage will be divided into groups according to performance, so it's up to you whether you join the group that will whizz through each stage at lightning speed or the one that will enjoy every kilometre. Or the one in between.

Arrival in Karlovy Vary
Someone will arrive by car (parking is provided), someone can cycle from Prague to Vary. It depends on how one interprets the transport information. We will settle in, have dinner and generally tune in to what will come in the next days.
Stage 1: from Karlovy Vary to Františkovy Lázně
After breakfast we head straight to the most difficult stage of the trip. From Karlovy Vary we will climb to Klínovec and Boží Dar, then we will pass through Rolava, Bublava, Kraslice and end in the historic Františkovy Lázně. The stage will test our climbing abilities without hesitation, as we will climb 2187 m over 136 km.
Stage 2: from Františkovy Lázně to Mariánské Lázně
Although we are in the domestic camp category, most of the 98km stage will be on German roads. From Františkovy Lázně we will head towards Aš, then turn south and cross the state border in Hammermühle. We will return to the Czech Republic near Broumov, from where we will take a short ride through Tři Sekery to Mariánky. We will climb 1626 m.
Stage 3: from Mariánské Lázně to Karlovy Vary
The last stage will be a poppy with beautiful views. From Mariánky we will head to Kladská, Loket and Horní Slavkov back to Karlovy Vary. Shower will be available at the finish. We have 88 km and 1185 m of altitude awaiting us. Return to Prague again on our own. If you plan to make it home on your own, be sure to remember your lights.
Reservation
The capacity of the camp is limited, so don't hesitate to book your place.
